In a world where anyone can share their opinions on social media as if they were facts, it has become even more important for candidates for local offices to build trust and rapport with all citizens through consistent and clear communication.  As we all know, the truth is rarely black and white, and usually requires context to understand the why behind a plan or a decision.

“Regardless of your political affiliation, our intentions are to make as much information as possible both accessible and understandable.  This will help all residents feel connected and confident that their elected officials are accountable and dependable.”  

While we will surely not always agree with all Garwood residents or even each other, we promise to be direct, thoughtful and motivated by what is in the best interest of our town.  Consulting with the experts such as our Chief of Police, Fire Chief, Borough administrator, and DPW Superintendent, among other professionals, helps us to gain the knowledge to be informed in our decision-making.  

We also want to stress the importance of dialog between the public and the Council, since we want to be aware of all issues that are impacting our residents in order to best serve them. We will advocate for more town hall meetings, like the recent one on Public Safety, to allow for more engagement from the public.  Zoom meetings should be utilized when appropriate, as this format allows many more residents to be involved from the comfort of their own homes.
